The Studio embarked on its first collaborative project with architect Rudy Ricciotti, creating original façade designs using high-performance concrete. We developed a system of parametric molds composed of complex, unique patterns, while incorporating select fixed connection points to ensure reversibility and interchangeability. This approach represents a highly refined and uncommon design practice, where a monolithic façade showcases varying configurations to avoid repetitive graphics.

Architect Rudy Ricciotti’s request was both precise and poetic: the façade had to evoke “a dust-strewn moon.” We began by sketching freely, crafting interweaving organic shapes, before adapting them to meet the technical constraints inherent in such a project. To achieve a natural effect, we designed nine distinct mold formats to seamlessly cover the building with a mantilla of randomly arranged cellular patterns.
